On August 6, the latest spy photos of the production version of the smart #2 were revealed. Designed by the Mercedes-Benz design team, the vehicle is built on a new architecture developed specifically for ultra-compact models by smart’s in-house R&D team. The car is expected to make its global debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. Despite heavy camouflage, its design elements align closely with the prototype concept unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, carrying forward the design DNA of the fortwo. The front fascia features a closed-off grille and split headlight clusters. Measuring 2.79 meters in length, the vehicle adopts a “four-wheel-at-the-corners” layout and a floating roof. Round taillights adorn the rear end. Powering the smart #2 is a pure electric drivetrain, offering a CLTC-rated range of 400 kilometers. It supports DC fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes, and includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. The car boasts a turning radius of 6.95 meters.
