Geely Says New Models Take 3–5 Years to Develop, With Over 100 Million km of Vehicle Testing Completed

Geely Auto stated that the average development cycle for its new vehicles spans 3 to 5 years, supported by its global network of 16 testing facilities, through which it has accumulated over 100 million kilometers of vehicle testing and validation. According to publicly available data, more than 650 new car models were launched in China from January to June 2024. Li Yanwei, an expert from the China Automobile Dealers Association, noted that approximately 165 of these were entirely new models, while the rest consisted of different configurations or variants of existing models.
