On August 7, Dongfeng Aeolus released official images of the L8Y in a new purple color. The model is positioned as a “fully equipped all-electric SUV under RMB 100,000.” On August 5, Dongfeng Motor unveiled three new energy vehicles in its L series—L8Y, L8+, and L9—covering three powertrain types: battery electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and extended-range electric (EREV). The company plans to launch these models successively starting in August. Among them, the L8Y measures 4,688 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,617 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. It is equipped with a 62 kWh battery pack. The front seats come standard with massage, ventilation, heating, and memory welcome functions. The vehicle also features a 50-inch AR-HUD. According to the manufacturer, the L8Y offers the most spacious rear seating and largest trunk capacity in its class.
