Smart #2 EV Completes New Vehicle Filing: Micro Two-Seater Electric Sedan

According to the public notice of new products in the 410th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on August 7, the smart #2 all-electric sedan has completed its registration. The vehicle is manufactured by Zhejiang Geely Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., bearing the brand trademark "smart," and has a rated seating capacity of two (including the driver). The model is offered in two body lengths—2,751 mm and 2,764 mm—while maintaining a consistent width of 1,669 mm, height of 1,555 mm, and wheelbase of 1,875 mm. Its curb weight is 1,130 kg, gross vehicle weight is 1,315 kg, and maximum speed is 140 km/h. In terms of powertrain, it is equipped with a TZ160XS00A electric motor produced by Stellar Drive Technology (Jiaxing) Co., Ltd., delivering 60 kW of power. The energy storage system uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries; the cells are supplied by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), and the battery pack is assembled by Zhejiang JiYao Tongxing Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The vehicle comes standard with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). An ETC onboard unit is available as an optional feature. Two tire size combinations are offered: 165/65R15 paired with 185/60R15, and 185/50R16 paired with 205/45R16, each corresponding to different track widths. Additionally, optional features include a black roof, body-color roof, hardtop, headlights, radar sensors, side trim panels, rear trim pieces, front grille, decorative elements, side mirrors, badging, and wheel rims. Depending on configuration, the vehicle may also be delivered without radar, cameras, or side radars.
