GAC Aion announced in July 2024 the launch of its new vehicle series "Ray," with the first model named "Ray 7." On August 7, the model appeared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) 410th batch of the "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," completing its official product registration. According to the registration details, the vehicle measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Optional features include a roof-mounted LiDAR, multiple wheel designs, and a "Ray 01" rear badge. Powering the vehicle is an electric motor supplied by Huawei Digital Power Technology Co., Ltd., delivering a peak output of 180 kW. The battery is provided by GAC CATL Battery Co., Ltd., a joint venture among Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), GAC Group, and Aion.
