SAIC Volkswagen ID. ERA 5X Completes New Vehicle Filing

According to the new product disclosure of the 410th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), SAIC Volkswagen has completed the application filing for its new all-electric multi-purpose passenger vehicle, the ID. ERA 5X. This vehicle is a compact all-electric SUV with dimensions of 4,560 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,630 mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. It is rated for five passengers, has a curb weight of 1,685 kg, a gross vehicle weight of 2,135 kg, and a maximum speed of 175 km/h. The vehicle offers a wide range of optional configurations, including different styles of headlamps, front position lamps, front bumpers, combination rear lamps, rear bumpers, rear emblem lettering, side window trim, panoramic sunroof, roof rails, B-pillar trim panels, side body moldings, wheel arches, side mirrors, door handles, as well as ETC onboard units, front-facing cameras, rear-facing cameras, and various wheel rim designs. In terms of powertrain, the vehicle is equipped with a TZ220QY173 electric drive motor manufactured by United Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd. (UAES), delivering a rated power output of 63 kW and a peak power of 150 kW. The energy storage system uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells or packs supplied by SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (a joint venture between CATL and SAIC), FAW-FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd. (a joint venture between CATL and FAW), and Contemporary Amperex Technology Jiangsu Co., Ltd. (CATL Jiangsu). Safety features include an IPB 2.0 ABS system controller produced by Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., standard anti-lock braking system (ABS), and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). The vehicle also comes equipped with dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, a center airbag, and curtain airbags. Three tire size options are available: 215/55 R18 95V, 215/60 R17 96V, and 215/55 R17 94V.
