According to the new product announcement in the 410th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Dongfeng Mengshi X700 has completed its official declaration. Positioned as a plug-in hybrid electric sport utility vehicle, it will be offered in two powertrain variants: an extended-range electric version and a plug-in hybrid version. In terms of dimensions, both variants measure 5,035 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and have a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The extended-range version stands 1,890 mm tall, while the plug-in hybrid variant is slightly taller at 1,910 mm. Curb weights are 2,500 kg for the extended-range model and 2,650 kg for the plug-in hybrid, with both rated for five passengers. The rear features an externally mounted spare tire, with “Mengshi” labeled on the left side and “X700” on the right. Both models are powered by a 1,497 cc engine produced by Zixin Technology Co., Ltd. The extended-range version uses the DFMC15TPE engine, delivering 95 kW of power and a maximum net output of 90 kW. The plug-in hybrid variant employs the DFMC15TE3 engine, rated at 113 kW with a maximum net output of 110 kW. Both versions have a top speed of 180 km/h and comply with China’s National VI emission standards. The vehicles utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs. Battery cells are supplied by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), while the battery assemblies are manufactured by Kexin Battery System (Hubei) Co., Ltd. Both variants support external charging. Under CLTC driving conditions, the all-electric range is available in two versions: 228 km and 244 km. Standard equipment across the lineup includes an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). An ETC onboard unit is available as an option. Tire options include 265/65R18 and 255/60R20 sizes, with optional extras such as a spare tire, wheels, storage boxes, electric side steps, and decorative trim pieces. The plug-in hybrid version further offers optional towing-related equipment, including a trailer hitch, electrical connector, roof rack, and towing device. The maximum permissible trailer mass is 750 kg without brakes and 2,500 kg with brakes. When equipped with the towing device, the departure angle is 26 degrees, without affecting the overall vehicle length. According to prior official information, the Mengshi X700 was co-designed by Mengshi Auto and Huawei Qiankun, targeting urban light-outdoor scenarios. The B-pillar features the Huawei Qiankun logo.
