On August 8, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, stated that the company’s Pengcheng series of vehicles was initiated three and a half years ago and began road testing two years ago. The new models in this series will officially launch in September. On the evening of July 30, Xiaomi held the Pengcheng Technology Launch Event, unveiling for the first time two models: the flagship seven-seater extended-range SUV N90 Max and the five-seater all-wheel-drive extended-range SUV N70 Max, along with their pre-sale prices. According to Xiaomi, the first Pengcheng test vehicle hit the road on October 12, 2024. As of June 30, the program had accumulated 626 days of road testing—spanning two winters and two summers—with 566 test vehicles covering a total distance of 4.28 million kilometers.
