Harmony Intelligent Mobility's Aito G9 Crater Test Video Questioned as AI-Generated; Multi-Angle Footage Later Surfaces

On August 5, Harmony Intelligent Mobility (HIMA) released a video showcasing the Shenjie G9 tackling a "cannonball crater" off-road challenge, highlighting the vehicle's Huawei SmartDrive adaptive electronic differential lock system. This system features real-time sensing, automatic locking, and millisecond-level adaptive torque distribution. After the video was posted, some netizens questioned in the comments whether it was AI-generated. Subsequently, multiple on-site footage clips shot from different angles began circulating online. Automotive blogger @HanLu explained that the vehicle appeared unusually clean after driving through the muddy water because the mud was thin and highly fluid, and the car’s smooth, hydrophobic paint surface prevented mud from adhering. He added that while faint yellow marks remained on the body after the mud dried, they were nearly invisible when the surface was still wet.
