On August 8, Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun announced that the Wey V8X, a flagship large five-seater SUV, will be unveiled on August 14 at 19:30. Pre-orders for the vehicle opened in July 2024, and it is positioned as the intelligent driving flagship five-seater model based on the Guanyuan S platform. The new SUV measures 5,125 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width, and 1,821 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. It offers a cabin usable area of 5.9 square meters and a trunk capacity of 864 liters, expandable to 2,225 liters when the second-row seats are folded down. The vehicle features nine acoustic-insulating glass panels, triple-layer panoramic sealed doors, and 104 aerodynamic active airflow management elements. In terms of intelligent systems, the V8X is equipped with the native AI cockpit-driving agent "Xiao Wei," powered by a dual-VLA architecture. It supports voice-controlled operations including vehicle start-up, lane changes, speed adjustment, U-turns, and parking. It also provides end-to-end NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functionality across all scenarios—from parking spot to parking spot—as well as campus roaming driver-assistance capabilities. Powering the vehicle is the Super Hi4 hybrid system, combining a 2.0T engine with a dedicated four-speed hybrid transmission. The system delivers a maximum output of 500 kW and peak torque of 930 N·m. With a full battery charge, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds; even in low-battery conditions, it achieves this in just 4.7 seconds. The V8X supports 800V+6C ultra-fast charging, enabling a 170-km range boost with only five minutes of charging. Equipped with a 66.6 kWh battery pack, it offers a WLTC pure-electric range of 312 km, a CLTC pure-electric range of 402 km, and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,659 km.
