On August 8, General Motors responded by stating that SAIC-GM will continue producing Chevrolet models in China and explore opportunities in overseas markets outside the United States. Chevrolet’s operations in China will gradually shift toward an export-oriented model, ceasing sales activities in the Chinese market. GM added that it will continue providing after-sales service support for over 7 million Chevrolet owners in China, though it did not disclose specific details of these measures. The Chevrolet brand was introduced to the Chinese market in 2005 by SAIC-GM and previously launched models such as the Cruze and Malibu, covering multiple segments ranging from compact cars to mid- and large-size SUVs.
