Ford executives confirmed at an internal meeting in Las Vegas that the company is developing a four-door Mustang, expected to debut by the end of 2027 with a starting price under $40,000 (approximately RMB 270,000). According to two attendees familiar with the matter, Ford showcased an early prototype of the vehicle during the meeting. The new model is expected to closely resemble the Porsche Panamera in size and design language and will compete directly with the four-door Dodge Charger. The car is unlikely to be offered as a fully electric variant and will likely carry over the current Mustang’s engine lineup, including a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder producing around 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, as well as a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 delivering 480 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. Ford is targeting a 0–60 mph (approximately 0–97 km/h) acceleration time for the vehicle, and its rear passenger space is expected to be more generous than that of the Porsche Panamera.
