SAMR: 561,000 New Enterprises Launched in Emerging Industries in H1; EV and Solar Sectors See Year-on-Year Rise in Closures

On August 8, the State Administration for Market Regulation released data showing that in the first half of this year, 561,000 new enterprises related to the "eight emerging industries and nine future-oriented industries" were established nationwide. Among these, 55,000 new enterprises entered the generative artificial intelligence sector and 116,000 entered the humanoid robotics sector, representing year-on-year increases of 28.0% and 9.5%, respectively. New enterprises in high-end equipment manufacturing totaled 28,000, up 2.5% year-on-year; intelligent equipment manufacturing grew by 6.4%; and urban rail transit equipment manufacturing rose by 4.4%. In high-tech manufacturing, 15,000 new enterprises were established, with new enterprises in spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing surging by 185.7% year-on-year, optical fiber and cable manufacturing increasing by 129.4%, and integrated circuit manufacturing growing by 24.2%. Meanwhile, during the same period, the number of deregistered enterprises in the new energy vehicle, photovoltaic, and lithium battery sectors rose by 4.6%, 8.3%, and 12.3% year-on-year, respectively.
