On August 9, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the new product disclosure list for the 410th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products." SAIC Volkswagen’s ID. ERA 5X all-electric multi-purpose passenger vehicle has completed its application filing. As the first all-electric model in the ID. ERA family, the vehicle is positioned as a “high-performance all-electric SUV” and marks Volkswagen’s first global production model built on the CMP platform and equipped with the CEA electronic and electrical architecture. The front fascia features a full-width light bar and illuminated logo, complemented by Lingmou Matrix LED headlights. The vehicle measures 4,560 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,630 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. It is equipped with the “Xingyun Zhixing” intelligent driving assistance system, includes LiDAR hardware, and supports end-to-end, full-scenario urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) driving assistance. The car uses CATL batteries compliant with China’s latest national battery standards. In the future, the ID. ERA 5X will join the ID. ERA 9X, ID. ERA 8X, and ID. ERA 5S to form the “ID. ERA 985” family lineup.
