Buick's New GL8 Lushang Launches August 13 with Next-Gen Plug-in Hybrid System

The new Buick GL8 Lushang will officially launch on August 13, featuring a next-generation plug-in hybrid powertrain. The vehicle offers an orange interior theme, with the front row equipped with a high center console armrest and multiple cup holders. The second-row seats are aviation-style seats adorned with diamond-pattern quilting, standard with heating, ventilation, massage functions, and leg rests, with backrests adjustable up to 160°. The third-row seatbacks can recline up to 135°. All seats feature diamond-pattern quilting craftsmanship, totaling over 20,000 stitches with stitch spacing precisely controlled at 4.5mm. High-contact areas—including sill plates, speaker grilles, and cup holders in the center console—are accented with glossy metallic trim. Side bolster support has been enhanced by 10%, and the seat cushions now use ultra-breathable "burst" foam, improving breathability by over 50%. In terms of performance, the vehicle delivers a combined CLTC range of 1,500 km and a pure-electric CLTC range of 142 km. Its WLTC combined fuel consumption is 1.24 L/100 km, while its WLTC fuel consumption under low battery conditions is 6.35 L/100 km. The system delivers a total output of 275 kW and 560 N·m of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time in the 7-second range, and supports 3.3 kW external power supply. The vehicle measures 5,219 mm (length) × 1,878 mm (width) × 1,807 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3,088 mm and a maximum trunk capacity of 1,650 liters.
