On August 10, GAC Group announced that GOVY AirCab, the first mass-production multirotor flying car developed by its subsidiary GAC Gaoyu, has successfully completed over three months of summer testing in Minqin County, Gansu Province. During the testing period, the vehicle conducted more than 500 test flights under complex climatic conditions—including high temperatures, high altitude, and gusty sandstorms—and completed over 100 test items. These included multiple rounds of automated long-range flights exceeding 30 kilometers, during which the aircraft autonomously planned its route, maintained stable cruising, and executed precise landings. In wind-adaptability tests, the AirCab flew forward at 18 m/s while simultaneously enduring a strong crosswind of 13 m/s, successfully performing high-speed coordinated turns while maintaining airframe stability and precise control. Additionally, under extreme combined conditions of temperatures above 50°C, low atmospheric pressure, and intense sand and dust, the aircraft’s thermal management system, component cooling efficiency, sealing protection of parts, and sensor performance all passed continuous validation. The company confirmed that the GOVY AirCab demonstrated stable operation and met environmental adaptability requirements under the harsh combined conditions of high temperature, low pressure, and sand/dust exposure, successfully passing high-temperature and high-altitude adaptability tests. The model was unveiled in June 2025 with an official suggested retail price of no more than RMB 1.68 million. Constructed primarily from aerospace-grade carbon fiber composites, over 90% of its airframe structure uses carbon fiber, reducing weight by more than 30%. Designed as a two-seater, it supports Level 4 autonomous driving, delivers computing power exceeding 500 TOPS, features a maximum detection range of over 300 meters, and is equipped with 5G connectivity, an intelligent assistant, an ambient fragrance system, redundant flight control and navigation systems, real-time monitoring, and cloud-based self-diagnostic capabilities. The first production unit rolled off the assembly line on May 29 of this year, marking the beginning of concurrent industrial-scale mass production, airworthiness certification, and commercial deployment.
