Excavator Utilization Rate Drops 6.34 Percentage Points Year-on-Year in July 2026

According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Association, the monthly operating rate of major construction machinery products in July 2026 was 49.9%, down 6.34 percentage points year-over-year and down 1.17 percentage points month-over-month. By product category, the operating rates were as follows: excavators at 48.2%, wheel loaders at 53.9%, truck cranes at 53%, crawler cranes at 48.7%, tower cranes at 44.9%, road rollers at 29.9%, pavers at 38.7%, rotary drilling rigs at 41.4%, off-highway mining dump trucks at 32.4%, concrete pump trucks at 30.3%, concrete mixer trucks at 38.6%, and forklifts at 65.8%. In terms of operating hours, the average monthly working hours for major construction machinery products in July 2026 stood at 73.6 hours, a year-over-year decrease of 8.82% and a month-over-month decline of 0.17%. Specifically, average working hours were: excavators at 54.3 hours, wheel loaders at 98.2 hours, truck cranes at 84.2 hours, crawler cranes at 77.4 hours, tower cranes at 45.4 hours, road rollers at 23.4 hours, pavers at 27.7 hours, rotary drilling rigs at 64.9 hours, off-highway mining dump trucks at 112 hours, concrete pump trucks at 33.1 hours, concrete mixer trucks at 91 hours, and forklifts at 107 hours.
