On August 11, SpaceX completed its acquisition of AI coding startup Cursor at a valuation of $60 billion (approximately RMB 405.32 billion). During an all-hands meeting, Cursor revealed that its upcoming general-purpose agent, currently named "Sand," might be renamed "GrokBot," though existing tools like the Cursor coding assistant will not be rebranded for now. SpaceX AI considers Cursor’s brand and enterprise customer relationships key assets. The final branding decision has not yet been finalized and could involve an entirely new name. The deal’s closing is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed no later than the end of August.
