On August 12, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released the wholesale sales rankings for passenger vehicles in July 2026. A total of 18 models exceeded 20,000 units in sales that month, down by three models compared to June. The BYD Yuan UP topped the chart with wholesale sales of 63,258 units, followed closely by the BYD Song at 61,012 units—making them the only two models surpassing 60,000 units in wholesale volume for the month. The Tesla Model Y ranked third with 59,836 units, while the Geely Xingyuan came in fourth with 55,105 units. The sales threshold for the top five positions was 34,000 units. Among models selling over 20,000 units, domestic brands occupied the majority of spots, including the Chery Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, Geely Bin Yue, Leapmotor A10, Wuling Bingo, and Fangchengbao T7. The Xiaomi SU7 sold 21,044 units, placing it 16th on the list. The vast majority of vehicles on the ranking were new energy models, with only a few fuel-powered vehicles making the cut. The list covered various segments, including compact city cars, midsize SUVs, and midsize sedans. Sales gaps among popular models were narrow, with shifts of just a few thousand units sufficient to alter rankings.
