XPeng Motors today released the results of its "G9L Single-Vehicle 720-Degree Integrated Water, Ground, and Air Seven-Stage Safety Test." The test comprises seven scenarios: full-vehicle submersion, underbody scraping, spiral rollover, three types of 100 km/h collisions, and a post-collision external fire test on the battery pack. In the 5-minute full-vehicle submersion test, the high-voltage electrical system showed no leakage or thermal runaway; the battery pack met air-tightness standards, and all windows operated normally. During the 35 km/h underbody scraping test, the battery casing remained intact with no electrolyte leakage, and the entire pack exhibited no smoke, fire, or explosion. In the 50 km/h single-side bridge spiral rollover test, the passenger compartment maintained structural integrity, airbags deployed promptly, and doors automatically unlocked and opened normally. In the 100 km/h frontal collision test, the A-pillar showed no structural failure, airbags deployed as intended, doors automatically unlocked and opened normally, and dummy injury metrics remained within regulatory limits. For the 100 km/h rear-end collision test—using a Volvo XC60 as the bullet vehicle at an impact speed of 100 km/h—the C- and D-pillars sustained no structural failure, and doors automatically unlocked and opened normally. In the 100 km/h side-impact collision test, the B-pillar showed no structural failure, and the non-impacted side doors opened normally. During the 150-second external fire test on the post-collision battery pack, there was no smoke, fire, explosion, or thermal propagation observed. The XPeng G9L features front-and-rear integrated die-casting technology using a 16,000-ton press, achieves a body torsional rigidity of 56,000 N·m/deg, and is equipped with 11 airbags—including a 41-liter, triple-chamber far-side airbag.
