Police Crack Down on E-bike Violations on Key Roads, Issuing 214 Citations and Impounding 56 Vehicles

Recently, public security authorities have launched a targeted enforcement campaign against electric bicycle traffic violations on key road sections, including Huan Shi Road and Xiao Bei Road. During the operation, authorities adopted a "technology + enforcement" approach, utilizing an intelligent video platform to conduct round-the-clock surveillance on these priority areas, accurately identifying violations such as running red lights, riding against traffic, and illegally carrying passengers. Leveraging a multi-unit coordinated enforcement mechanism, they efficiently addressed these offenses. As of the latest report, authorities have handled 214 cases of electric bicycle traffic violations and impounded 56 non-compliant vehicles. Concurrently, public security departments have carried out educational outreach, urging violators via phone calls and text messages to accept penalties and providing them with in-person safety education. Moving forward, authorities will further strengthen routine enforcement mechanisms to maintain strict oversight and continuously improve local traffic order.
