On August 14, according to media reports, OpenAI is showing strong growth ahead of its IPO. Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of the company, stated that OpenAI’s monthly revenue grew by over 20% in July 2024 alone. CFO Sarah Friar said the company expects annualized revenue of approximately $20 billion in 2025, with potential to exceed $40 billion in 2026. To better compete in the market, OpenAI has reduced prices for some of its AI models and hired senior executives from the cybersecurity sector to bolster its enterprise sales capabilities. The report also noted that Anthropic has achieved $47 billion in annualized revenue; however, due to differences in calculation methodologies, this figure is not directly comparable to OpenAI’s revenue data.
