On July 30, Guangdong Province launched its first token-based economy-focused financial product, "Token Loan," in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The Guangzhou Branch of Bank of China introduced a dedicated financing product—"Computing Power Token Loan"—targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Haizhu District engaged in computing power services. This product determines credit lines based on contracts or token consumption limits and offers multiple guarantee options, including unsecured credit, accounts receivable pledges, and order-based financing. It also supports combined guarantees such as suretyship and collateral to increase loan amounts. Newly established companies can apply for financing against purchase orders, provided they submit documentation proving continuous operations or offer acceptable guarantees. It is reported that during the pilot phase, Bank of China has already extended trial credit facilities totaling RMB 28 million. On the same day, the Guangdong Token Exchange and Service Center was officially inaugurated at the Global Cross-border Trade Industry Cluster Ecosystem Conference. The center jointly launched a "Token Going Global" service package with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Data Special Zone Innovation Cooperation Center. Focused on addressing common challenges faced by SMEs—including high AI procurement costs, difficulties in matching supply and demand, significant compliance risks, and slow disbursement of subsidies—the center aims to standardize pricing for AI resources such as models, data, and computing power using tokens, enabling one-stop aggregation and fair trading.
