Volvo Launches "Safety Coach" App to Analyze Driving Behavior and Offer Improvement Tips

From:Internet Info Agency 2026-08-15 20:36:08

On August 15, Volvo announced the launch of a new app called "Safety Coach," which can run either through the vehicle's infotainment system or on a smartphone. Using real-world crash data and Volvo’s safety research, the app analyzes the driver’s braking, acceleration, and cornering behavior during driving, generating a score and personalized improvement suggestions. Drivers can choose whether or not to activate this feature. The app will initially be available in Sweden and Norway for most Volvo models launched from 2020 onward, including the XC40, EX40, C40 Recharge, S60, V60, XC60, EX60, XC90, V90, and EX90. Local users will also have the option to share their driving data with insurer Volvia to potentially qualify for lower insurance premiums. The app is expected to roll out to the U.S. and other European markets at a later stage.
