Ford officially unveiled the Mustang Dark Horse SC convertible on August 15, seven months after the debut of the hardtop version, making it the most powerful convertible Mustang Ford has ever produced. The new model is powered by a supercharged 5.2L V8 engine producing 795 horsepower (593 kW / 806 PS) and 894 N·m of peak torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The Mustang Dark Horse SC convertible features a soft-top roof and comes equipped with specially tuned MagneRide suspension calibrated for enhanced on-road comfort. The cabin offers Onyx Black and Space Gray color schemes, with leather-trimmed seats identical to those in the hardtop version—featuring 6-way power adjustment for the driver and 4-way power adjustment for the front passenger. Interior highlights include carbon fiber trim accents, a rotary gear selector, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Based on the hardtop’s specifications, the convertible is expected to feature a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch infotainment system, a 12-speaker B&O audio system, aluminum pedals, ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Additional carryover features likely include 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, an active exhaust system, launch control, and a carbon fiber driveshaft. Orders for the Mustang Dark Horse SC convertible will open in fall 2024, with deliveries scheduled to begin in spring 2027. Ford has not yet announced pricing for the convertible; the hardtop starts at $106,090.
