Ferrari Daytona SP3 Sells for $17 Million, Setting New Record for Production Car

A 2023 Ferrari Daytona SP3 sold for $17.825 million (approximately RMB 120 million) at an RM Sotheby's auction held during Monterey Car Week in California, USA, in August 2026, setting a new record as the highest price ever paid for a standard production Daytona SP3. The car rolled off the assembly line at Ferrari’s Maranello factory in Italy in July 2023 and was delivered to its first owner in January 2024. At the time of the auction, it had covered just 227 miles (approximately 365 kilometers). Finished in Giallo Triplo Strato—a triple-layer yellow paint—the vehicle features black racing stripes and Italian tricolor accents. Its interior is trimmed in Nero black leather with yellow highlights and includes a carbon-fiber roof and Scuderia Ferrari shield badges. Powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 829 horsepower, the Daytona SP3 is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 211 mph (approximately 340 km/h). The hammer price at auction was $16.2 million, rising to $17.825 million after buyer’s fees—significantly exceeding its pre-sale estimate of $10–12 million. Ferrari produced a total of 600 Daytona SP3 units. The 600th example, a special “599+1” charity edition, sold for $26 million in 2025. The car auctioned in 2026 was acquired by its third owner; its previous two owners held it from January 2024 and October 2025, respectively. The Daytona SP3 had an original manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting around $2.3 million.
