On August 16, Tesla launched a new external power adapter for the Model Y L in the U.S. market, priced at $80. This adapter enables the vehicle’s traction battery to deliver up to 2.4 kW of power at 120V and 20A. The product is an add-on accessory that attaches to the end of Tesla’s Gen 3 Mobile Connector. To use the power-export feature, users must plug the charging connector into the vehicle’s charge port and attach the adapter to the other end of the charging cable.
