Recently, the BMW 5 Series has hit a new price low. The BMW 525Li, which carries an official manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of RMB 368,000, is now available with a discounted bare-car price of approximately RMB 280,000, bringing its all-inclusive on-the-road price to no more than RMB 320,000. Meanwhile, the starting price of the BMW 3 Series has also dropped to RMB 258,000. BMW Brilliance Automotive has reduced the official MSRP for 31 of its currently available models, with the largest cut reaching RMB 301,000. Mercedes-Benz has implemented an across-the-board price reduction of around 10% on its entire lineup, while Audi has lowered the starting price of its newly launched A6L by RMB 100,000 compared to the previous generation and introduced exclusive incentives for large-volume customers to boost terminal sales. Sales in China’s premium vehicle segment priced between RMB 300,000 and RMB 400,000 have declined year-over-year, primarily due to market share erosion from models such as the BMW X3, Toyota Sienna, and Li Auto L7 entering this price range from above, as well as declining sales of traditional core models like the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes-Benz GLC. The RMB 400,000–500,000 price bracket has become the segment where conventional internal-combustion luxury vehicles are being replaced most significantly by new energy vehicles (NEVs). Domestic NEVs have already entered the RMB 400,000–600,000 actual transaction price range and are achieving substantial scale-driven substitution effects specifically within the RMB 400,000–500,000 segment.
