Mini has recently launched the Rooftop Editions special models—the fifth of eight limited-edition variants planned for 2023. Based on the two-door and four-door Cooper S, this special edition is offered in two color schemes: one features an Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic body paired with a Melting Silver III Metallic roof and mirror caps, while the other reverses the combination, using Melting Silver III Metallic for the body and Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic for the roof and mirrors. Both versions feature contrasting stripes on the hood and tailgate. Inside, the new models come equipped with John Cooper Works sport seats upholstered in black Vescin material, with “Mini” branding on the seatbacks. The steering wheel features contrast stitching, and blue accents adorn the center console. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a Piano Black exterior trim package, power-adjustable front seats with active driver’s seat functionality, and the Comfort Package Plus—building upon the Iconic trim level—which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, augmented reality navigation, and Parking Assist Plus. Additional features include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless smartphone charging, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and keyless entry. Under the hood, both models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 201 horsepower (150 kW / 204 PS) and 299 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 0–60 mph (0–96 km/h) acceleration time is 6.3 seconds. Pricing for the two-door Rooftop Edition starts at $39,995, plus a $1,350 destination fee, while the four-door version starts at $40,995, excluding destination charges. Deliveries are expected to begin in October.
