According to an August 18 report, Tesla is preparing to launch its Cybercab to the public as early as August 2024 in Austin, Texas. The Cybercab will be Tesla’s first vehicle without a steering wheel or brake pedal. Tesla plans to initially offer Cybercab rides to employees on public roads, followed by integrating it into its Austin Robotaxi service within a few days. Recently, the company has been preparing for the Cybercab’s launch through test drives, employee ride experiences on closed roads, and training sessions for local emergency responders. Internally, Tesla aims to roll out the vehicle to the public by the end of August, though the exact timing remains subject to change.
