On August 13, a draft standard titled "Safety Requirements for Fuel Cell Engines," led by FAW Jiefang, was among eight national and industry standards under review and underwent expert discussion at a relevant meeting. The draft aims to enhance the standardization system for the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry. On August 5, Guangzhou released a draft of its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) for energy development for public consultation, proposing to advance energy substitution in the transportation sector and accelerate the adoption of new-energy vehicles. The plan sets a target to deploy a certain scale of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, ships, and drones by 2030. Beijing announced measures to improve convenient access for new-energy vehicles and promote the application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Sichuan Province also proposed expanding the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and establishing multiple green hydrogen corridors. In the first half of 2024, several hydrogen-energy-related listed companies reported year-on-year growth in net profits. Hoperun Holdings saw its revenue rise year-over-year and swung to profitability from a net loss in the same period last year, while Huachang Chemical forecasted a significant increase in net profit. As of the midday close on August 14, the hydrogen energy sector recorded gains over both the past week and the past month.
