Bentley unveiled interior details of its first all-electric model, the Torcal, on August 18. The vehicle will feature 100% Merino wool upholstery in its cabin for the first time ever—an automotive textile specially developed for the Torcal by British fabric manufacturer Fox Brothers. Bentley describes it as the “world’s first” 100% Merino wool automotive fabric to meet the stringent requirements of luxury vehicles and has received 100% certification under the Responsible Wool Standard. The interior offers six color schemes, each combining complementary shades within the same color family. The Torcal also debuts gradient wood veneers made from sustainably sourced walnut offcuts and recycled paper. Up to 1,000 layers of these materials are compressed and sliced into sheets less than 1 millimeter thick, creating four transitional tones ranging from deep black to natural walnut. Additionally, the car offers an optional aluminum trim called “Mulliner Sunray,” which reinterprets the classic engine-turned aluminum dashboard design. The Torcal is officially set to launch on September 23, with an expected output of approximately 800 horsepower; full specifications will be revealed at that time.
