Stellantis Recalls 955,000 Vehicles Globally Over Radio Software Issue

Stellantis announced on August 17 local time a global recall of approximately 955,000 vehicles due to radio software that could prevent the rearview camera system from displaying properly. The recall affects 2026 and 2027 model-year Chrysler Pacifica (including plug-in hybrid versions) and Voyager, Dodge Charger, Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, Wrangler, and Ram 1500, 2500, and ProMaster vehicles. Of these, about 848,000 are in the U.S. market, with approximately 107,000 in Canada, Mexico, and other markets combined. Stellantis will notify owners via prompts on their vehicle’s infotainment screen and provide an over-the-air (OTA) software update. The company stated it has received no reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue and advised drivers to use their rearview and side mirrors when backing up if the rearview camera display is unavailable.
