On August 18, the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government officially released the "Third Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao SAR (2026–2030)." The plan proposes to continuously study and improve facilitation measures for the "Macao Vehicles Heading North" scheme and regular quotas for travel between Hong Kong and Macao. It also actively promotes alignment of vehicle inspection standards and mutual recognition of inspection results among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, aiming to implement a "one-stop vehicle inspection with mutual recognition across the three regions" mechanism to facilitate cross-border travel for residents.
