On August 18, Seres Group announced that its entire AITO vehicle lineup had successfully completed an extreme real-world test across diverse driving scenarios, traveling over 7,000 kilometers in seven days from China’s westernmost point to Shanghai’s Dishui Lake. Dubbed “Traversing China’s Extremes: AITO’s 10,000-Kilometer Journey,” the event featured a convoy led by the 2025 AITO M9 model, passing through sacred Mount Kailash and Lhasa, and traversing National Highways 219 and 318. The route included challenging sections such as the Nujiang 72 Turns and the Mila Mountain tunnel complex, descending from high-altitude plateaus at approximately 4,500 meters to near-sea-level plains, with daily temperature fluctuations exceeding 20°C. The journey covered a wide range of road conditions, including expressways, national highways, provincial roads, rural roads, and urban streets. Zhang Xinghai, founder and chairman of Seres Group, participated in the entire journey, while China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), acting as an independent third-party institution, conducted objective evaluations throughout the test. During the evaluation, AITO’s full vehicle lineup successfully demonstrated its advanced driver-assistance systems under demanding conditions—including high-altitude hypoxia, sandstorms, and intense glare—effectively handling complex driving scenarios. All vehicles used in the test were production models currently available for sale.
