Geely Xingyue L PLUS Winter Spy Shots Leak; Hybrid Starts Successfully at -50°C

Geely Auto recently released winter testing footage and spy photos of the Xingyue L PLUS. The tests showed that the hybrid version successfully started on its first attempt in temperatures as low as -50°C and underwent dynamic performance evaluations on icy and snowy roads. Positioned as a flagship midsize SUV, the Xingyue L PLUS features a five-door, five-seat layout with dimensions of 4,955 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, 1,769 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. In terms of powertrain, the hybrid variant is equipped with a dedicated 2.0T hybrid engine producing a maximum output of 160 kW, paired with a 3DHT hybrid-specific transmission. A conventional gasoline-only version is also available, powered by a 2.0T turbocharged engine delivering 213 kW of peak power and a top speed of 210 km/h. Exterior-wise, the vehicle retains the design language of the Xingyue L, featuring a large vertical-slat front grille accented with chrome trim. Both the test mule and official filings confirm the inclusion of a lidar sensor. The rear end adopts a full-width light bar and presents a more rounded and robust profile compared to the Xingyue L. The Xingyue L PLUS is scheduled to officially launch in the second half of 2024.
