To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the M3, BMW has launched a limited-edition M3 40th Anniversary model in the Chinese market, available in both sedan and Touring (wagon) body styles, with only 40 units offered nationwide. The sedan variant is priced at RMB 1,038,000, while the Touring version retails for RMB 1,068,000. Exterior highlights include a kidney-shaped grille with black surround, blacked-out LED headlights, and Laguna Seca Blue bespoke paintwork. The car rides on black, dual-spoke 826M forged aluminum wheels—19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear—paired with blue M Compound brake calipers. Exclusive “40th Anniversary Edition” badging adorns the roof and door sill plates. Inside, the cabin features standard M carbon bucket seats upholstered in a two-tone Merino leather combination of Silverstone White and Black, accented with Polar Blue contrast stitching. “40th Anniversary Edition” emblems are embroidered on the front seat headrests and embossed on the central cup holder area. The steering wheel is an M Sport multifunction unit wrapped in Alcantara and equipped with heating functionality. Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbocharged engine producing a maximum output of 530 horsepower (approximately 390 kW). Power is delivered through an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission and the intelligent M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The sedan achieves a top speed of 290 km/h, while the Touring variant tops out at 280 km/h.
