GAC Aion unveiled official images of its new mid-to-large all-electric sedan, the RAY7, on August 20. The vehicle measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. It features a fastback silhouette and semi-recessed door handles, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.22. The front fascia adopts Aion’s “Quantum Star Ring” design language, highlighted by a full-width light bar, an illuminated brand logo, and large lower bumper air intakes. Two exterior color options are available: Lightning Yellow and Midsummer Purple. In terms of intelligent driving, the RAY7 is equipped with 27 automotive-grade sensors, including Huawei’s 192-line LiDAR and three 4D millimeter-wave radars. It runs on a large AI model derived from WeRide’s L4 autonomous Robotaxi platform, enabling end-to-end one-stage advanced driver assistance. Powering the RAY7 is Huawei’s DriveONE integrated electric drive system, paired with Aion’s next-generation thermal management system and a 28-in-1 thermal management module. Under CLTC conditions, it achieves an energy consumption of 9.7 kWh per 100 km and offers a range of 700 km. The battery, supplied by CATL, incorporates Aion’s second-generation “Battery Armor” technology and features dual-layer safety monitoring—both onboard and cloud-based—operating 24/7.
