On August 20, a test prototype of the high-performance BYD Denza Z9 GT was spotted undergoing road testing in Europe. The prototype features an all-new front fascia design, highlighted by a large V-shaped air intake, substantial side airflow ducts, and a prominent front lip spoiler. Behind the front wheels are aerodynamic finlets, while the sides of the car are fitted with aggressive side skirts and vertical support structures. The rear seats have been removed and replaced with a roll cage, the wheel arches widened, and the vehicle is equipped with lightweight wheels and a high-performance braking system. At the rear, it sports a large rear wing, a small central spoiler, a sizable diffuser, and vertical airflow channels on both sides. The current Denza Z9 GT is powered by a tri-motor system delivering a maximum output of 1,140 horsepower (850 kW) and peak torque of 1,210 N·m, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 2.7 seconds. It also supports "crab-walk" mode and "tank-turn" functionality. According to previously released information, the Denza Z special edition boasts a combined maximum output exceeding 1,973 horsepower (1,471 kW), achieving 0–100 km/h in under 1.7 seconds. The standard Denza Z model produces 1,582 horsepower (1,180 kW) and 1,240 N·m of peak torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 2.25 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h. The Z Racing variant achieves 0–100 km/h in just 1.96 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h. Specific performance figures for this test prototype have not yet been disclosed.
