BYD’s personalized brand Fangchengbao has officially unveiled its lineup for the 2026 Chengdu International Auto Show. Four models—Fangchengbao Ti9, Fangcheng S, Fangcheng S GT, and Fangchengbao Shark—will be showcased during the event. Notably, the interior design of the Fangcheng S series will make its global debut on August 21, with market launch and customer deliveries scheduled for early September. The Fangcheng S series comprises three variants: the Fangcheng S sedan, Fangcheng SL, and Fangcheng S GT shooting brake. The series’ naming was revealed at the Beijing Auto Show in April and has since been listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) 408th batch of the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products.” The Fangcheng S measures 5,060 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width, and 1,483 mm or 1,458 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm and a curb weight of 2,140 kg. The Fangcheng S GT measures either 5,025 mm or 5,095 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width, and 1,483 mm or 1,458 mm in height, sharing the same 2,960 mm wheelbase but with a slightly higher curb weight of 2,170 kg. Both models have a top speed of 240 km/h and offer two powertrain options: a single-motor configuration (peak power of either 245 kW or 300 kW) and a dual-motor setup (front/rear motors rated at 190 kW/300 kW). Both are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, delivering a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 900 km. Higher trims feature BYD’s Yunniu-M intelligent magnetorheological suspension and a cabin powered by BYD’s next-generation Smart Ecosystem 2.0, supporting expanded smart interaction capabilities via three open interfaces: PIN port, magnetic attachment, and threaded connectors. The series is expected to be priced between RMB 250,000 and RMB 300,000. The Fangchengbao Ti9 is a plug-in hybrid six-seater SUV measuring 5,270 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,850 mm (or 1,880 mm) tall, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase. It boasts a towing capacity of 2,000 kg and offers an optional retractable electric tow hook. Power comes from a 1.5T engine (110 kW max output) paired with front and rear electric motors (each delivering 200 kW max output). It features a 66.48 kWh battery pack, offering a pure-electric CLTC range of 310 km, and is equipped with BYD’s “Eyes of God B” advanced driver-assistance system, including LiDAR. The Fangchengbao Shark is BYD Group’s first-ever pickup truck, already launched overseas under the name SHARK. The domestic version measures 5,457 mm long, 1,971 mm wide, and 1,925 mm tall, with a 3,260 mm wheelbase and a double-cab, five-seat layout. It is powered by a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, with the engine producing a maximum output of 143 kW and the front and rear motors delivering 170 kW and 150 kW respectively. The vehicle has a top speed of 180 km/h and offers an optional towing package.
