On August 20, the Ministry of Transport held a special press conference on the "AI + Transportation" Pilot Application Innovation Initiative. Xu Wenqiang, Director-General of the Ministry's Department of Science and Technology, stated that artificial intelligence is being comprehensively integrated into the transportation sector, driving a shift in safety governance from "post-incident response" to "pre-incident warning," and from "human-based prevention" to "technology- and intelligence-driven prevention." Currently, AI has been applied in vehicle active safety warning systems, which can identify behaviors such as driver fatigue and distraction and issue timely alerts and interventions, achieving an identification accuracy rate exceeding 95%.
