On August 20 Beijing time, Genesis officially unveiled its flagship SUV, the GV90. Built on the eMP platform specifically developed for flagship models, the GV90 is offered in two design variants: the standard version features conventional doors, while the GV90 Neolun variant is equipped with the world’s first independently operable hidden B-pillar suicide doors, dubbed the Neolun Arch Gate. The GV90 is powered by a 123.5 kWh high-voltage battery pack, delivering a combined maximum output of 490 kW (657 hp) and peak torque of 800 N·m. In internal testing, the seven-seat variant achieved a range of 500 km. It supports 350 kW ultra-fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 22 minutes. The vehicle comes equipped with dual electronic limited-slip differentials, multi-chamber air suspension, a wireless battery management system (WBMS), the world’s first roof-mounted airbag, a retractable central OLED cinema display, a Bang & Olufsen 25-speaker 3D audio system with Dolby Atmos support, Ambient Glow ambient lighting, a Smart Vision Roof, and a heated windshield. Development of the GV90 began in July 2023 as a joint project between Hyundai and Samsung.
