Lamborghini has unveiled the Revuelto SV, its new V12 hybrid hypercar, limited to 1,963 units globally, making its world debut at Monterey Car Week in 2026. Alessandro Farmeschi, Director of the Revuelto product line, stated that the company will not pursue an official lap time challenge at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the near term. Instead, Lamborghini chose Germany’s Hockenheimring circuit to test and target the fastest-ever production car lap record. Factory driver Marco Mapelli set the lap time, which the company claims broke the track’s existing production car record. Farmeschi explained that Hockenheim offers driving conditions more representative of typical track-day experiences for everyday owners, making the lap time more replicable. In contrast, the Nürburgring Nordschleife’s unique and highly variable road conditions are better suited for engineering development rather than serving as a public performance benchmark for customers.
