On August 24, three Chinese EV startups—XPeng, NIO, and Leapmotor—simultaneously unveiled their latest developments in the field of humanoid robotics. XPeng announced that its robotics business has secured over $900 million in its first round of financing, valuing the unit at more than $6.3 billion post-investment. NIO revealed that Ren Shaoqing, head of its intelligent driving division, has founded an embodied intelligence company, with NIO participating as a strategic investor. Meanwhile, during its earnings call the same day, Leapmotor confirmed for the first time that it has formulated plans related to humanoid robots.
