Second-Gen Denza D9 Rolls Out OTA Update with Over 20 Enhancements, Including Smart Cabin, Parking Assist, and Vehicle-Home Connectivity

On August 26, BYD’s premium EV brand Denza rolled out a new round of OTA system updates to owners of the second-generation Denza D9. This update spans seven core modules—smart cockpit, voice interaction, Sentry Mode security, phone-vehicle connectivity, vehicle-home interconnectivity, and navigation-assisted driving—introducing or optimizing over 20 features. In the smart cockpit, a new digital avatar named “Xiao Shi” now provides dynamic facial expressions as visual feedback during voice wake-up. A new “Magic Megaphone” app enables external announcements via the car’s external speakers. The infotainment system adds an active parking payment reminder: it logs parking details and displays a pop-up notification before departure, supporting one-click payment directly from the vehicle’s interface. During navigation and calls, users can now toggle navigation voice prompts on or off while on a call. The surround-view camera interface also gains quick-access buttons for folding/unfolding side mirrors. Sentry Mode now supports scheduled activation/deactivation and adds audio-visual alerts for high-risk events. In ecosystem connectivity, OPPO smartphone users gain “Walking Continuation Navigation,” while vivo users receive new NFC tap-to-connect functionality via Smart Keys, integrated voice control, and cross-device file transfer. For in-cabin entertainment, cross-screen video-on-demand from iQiyi and music-themed live wallpapers are newly supported. The IoT ecosystem now integrates support for pet safety seats, Ninebot scooters, in-car air purifiers, car vacuum cleaners, lumbar massagers, and dual-zone portable refrigerators. Vehicle-to-home connectivity expands to include remote control of Hisense and TCL air conditioners, and the Smart IoT App Store now accepts loyalty points as payment. Navigation enhancements include added detour time and distance info in “Along My Route” search results. EV charging station searches now intelligently recommend nearby ultra-fast chargers and offer quick filtering options. The parking assist system gains memory for preferred parking spots. The navigation-assisted driving system sees further improvements in performance and stability. DiLink’s smart cockpit UI has been comprehensively upgraded with refined layouts, smoother animations, and an updated split-screen strategy: users now tap the top bar of any window to access the split-screen menu (switching between 3/7 split layouts). This OTA update is being deployed nationwide in batches and does not consume user data. Denza recommends scheduling the update in advance. Before initiating the upgrade, owners should park on a flat, safe road, ensure strong network connectivity, maintain battery level above 20%, and confirm all doors and hatches are closed. Temporary screen blackouts, illuminated daytime running lights, or dashboard prompts may occur during the process—these are normal. Users must not interrupt the process or forcibly cut power.
