National NEV Passenger Car Sales Drop 12% YoY to 614,000 Units (Aug 1–23)

From August 1 to 23, national passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 956,000 units, down 22% year-over-year and down 2% compared to the same period last month. Year-to-date retail sales have reached 11,129,000 units, a 20% decline from the same period last year. During the same period, retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles nationwide reached 614,000 units, down 12% year-over-year and down 2% compared to the same period last month. Year-to-date retail sales of new energy vehicles totaled 6,283,000 units, down 12% year-over-year.
