Korea's Chonnam National University Develops Triple-Layer Composite Solid Electrolyte to Boost Lithium-Metal Battery Performance

A research team led by Professor Mincheol Chang from the Department of Polymer Engineering and the School of Polymer Science and Engineering at Chonnam National University in South Korea has developed a novel triple-layer composite solid electrolyte (CSE) designed to enhance ion transport and suppress dendrite formation in lithium metal batteries (LMBs). The electrolyte integrates chemically active ceramic fillers with a flexible triblock copolymer, inspired by the natural adhesive proteins mussels use to attach themselves to rocks. The findings have been published in the journal *Advanced Materials*.
