Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles unveiled its first all-electric California model, the ID. California Cruise, at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, on August 27, 2024. Based on the ID. Buzz Pro, the vehicle is available in both short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase versions, with a starting price in Germany of €60,761 (approximately RMB 477,000). The rear tailgate features the word "California," while the side panels display "California Cruise" decals. Inside, the rear area is equipped with a tri-fold mattress measuring 9 cm thick, 2,030 mm long, and 1,200 mm wide. The vehicle offers two battery options—79 kWh and 86 kWh—delivering a WLTP-rated range of approximately 402 to 482 kilometers. The onboard battery supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, providing up to 2,000 watts of AC power output to run appliances such as coffee machines, refrigerated boxes, and induction cooktops.
