On August 28, the first production model from Saidou Tech—a joint venture co-invested by Chongqing’s Shapingba District and Seres—underwent high-temperature road testing in Turpan, Xinjiang. The camouflaged prototype of the AIVA ME7 is scheduled for official launch within 2024, with all trims priced above RMB 200,000. The ME7’s design is expected to closely follow that of the AIVA Origin Concept unveiled in June this year, featuring a roof-mounted LiDAR unit and a small rear spoiler. Saidou Tech was formerly known as Chongqing Landian Technology. In 2024, it completed a capital increase and share expansion totaling approximately RMB 6.671 billion, with Chongqing’s local state-owned capital as the largest shareholder, Seres as the second-largest shareholder, and CATL participating through its investment platform. Operating as an independent brand, AIVA receives comprehensive vehicle manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering support from Seres; battery technology and battery-swapping solutions from CATL; and smart cockpit services powered by Doubao large models from Volcano Engine.
