FAW-Volkswagen has officially launched its new all-electric SUV, the ID. AURA T6, with a starting price of RMB 135,900. Built on Volkswagen’s CEA (Centralized Electronic Architecture), the vehicle comes standard across all trims with front and rear disc brakes and Bosch’s IPB 2.0 braking system. Measuring 4,811 mm in length, 1,879 mm in width, and 1,648 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,836 mm, the ID. AURA T6 is positioned as a midsize SUV. Its exterior features a full-width light bar and an illuminated logo. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, and a 25.8-inch AR-HUD. Powered by a 4nm intelligent cockpit chip, the infotainment system supports wireless CarPlay, HiCar, and Carlink smartphone connectivity. In terms of intelligent driving capabilities, the ID. AURA T6 is equipped with the Xingyun Zhixing (CloudMotion) system developed by CoolRide, a joint venture between Volkswagen and Horizon Robotics. An optional 192-line roof-mounted LiDAR is available, paired with Horizon’s Journey 6H autonomous driving chip delivering 420 TOPS of computing power, enabling highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and urban full-scenario navigation assistance. The chassis features four-wheel disc brakes, a front anti-roll bar, and wide tires measuring 255/265 mm. The body employs a hybrid steel-aluminum cage structure, with ultra-high-strength steel accounting for over 80% of the frame. Critical areas utilize 2,000 MPa hot-stamped steel, earning the vehicle a five-star rating from C-NCAP and top marks across all categories in C-IASI safety assessments. Powering the ID. AURA T6 is a single electric motor producing 170 kW, paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. It offers CLTC-rated ranges of either 550 km or 620 km. Based on an 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform, the vehicle can regain up to 300 km of range with just 10 minutes of charging.
